What We Do

Add It Up SF provides targeted early math intervention for San Francisco students in Grades 1 and 2 who need additional support with foundational numeracy skills.

Working in partnership with schools, we identify students who are struggling with number sense and provide individualized tutoring during the school day. Students receive two 30-minute sessions each week in a 1:1 or very small-group setting, allowing instruction to be tailored to their specific needs.

Our intervention focuses on developing number sense, fluency within 20, and additive reasoning—the building blocks of future mathematical success. Using engaging, multisensory activities and evidence-informed instructional practices, we help students build confidence, strengthen problem-solving skills, and develop a positive relationship with math.

We believe that early support matters. By addressing math challenges in the primary grades, we can help students build the strong foundation they need to succeed in school and beyond.
